MORE ABOUT LAWN GRUBS: TINY LAWN DESTROYERS

Grubs are white, C-shaped insects that feed on grass roots in August through October. Grubs are the larvae stage of beetles, and feast on the roots of your lawn, killing it. You might see patches of dead grass or dirt that will not grow grass, and that’s a good sign that grubs are the culprit. To see if your lawn is infested with grubs, simply peel back the top layer of soil. If you have grubs, the grass will peel back easily and you’ll see the grubs. Grubs in the larvae stage are most visible in the Spring and Fall, and in summer they will mature into beetles that will emerge to feed on grass and flowers, and lay their eggs soon after.
