At SeaScape, we are continually looking for technological advancements that will enable us to better serve your lawn. Through our research and trials we have found a fertilizer technology that allows us to deliver all of your lawn care expectations while meeting our mutual economic and environmental expectations. The Enhanced Efficiency Fertilizer we chose has been researched at twenty four universities across the country, including in New England, over the past five years.
Enhanced Efficiency Fertilizers (EEFs) are fertilizers that reduce nitrogen loss to the environment while increasing nutrient availability for your lawn.
Benefits to you:
- A better looking and healthier lawn
- Knowledge that your fertilizer has virtually no potential negative impact to the environment
- Fertilizer applications with a longer lasting “green” – much longer than the typical 5-6 weeks
- Your lawn will exhibit a more consistent green color, with less fading of color between applications.
In early 2015 SeaScape became the first and only landscape company in RI to receive certification from RI’s Department of Environmental Management for sustainable turf management practices. Our introduction and use of EEF’s played a large role in SeaScape winning this certification.
In 2013 and 2014, SeaScape extensively tested Enhanced Efficiency Fertilizers (EEF’s) and were delighted with the results, as were the customers who participated in our trials. We are pleased to announce that in 2015, we will begin to use this technology on a widespread basis. As this product ‘greens’ longer than the previous standard of 6 weeks, it will allow us time to better focus on lawn pests such as weeds and insects, resulting in superior weed and insect control.
In addition, this new program will allow us to introduce micronutrient fertilizers into your 2nd and 4th applications. This fertilizer, widely used on golf courses, will enhance rooting, improve drought tolerance and reduce watering requirements. Please note that micronutrient fertilizers are applied as a liquid since they are absorbed through the turf foliage, and not the roots. Thus, you will NOT see granular fertilizer on your lawn or along the edges after the 2nd and 4th applications.
We are excited to bring this advancement in our program to your property and we are confident you will be pleased with the results. S:Datawordfilesleave behindsap 2 round card 2015 Duration custy letter – spring 2015.docx
