COVENTRY, R.I. — Continuing a holiday tradition, Christmas Decor by SeaScape was honored to help make the holiday brighter for a local family that has experienced the loss of a loved one.
In partnership with FRIENDS WAY, Christmas Decor by SeaScape last week decorated the Rowles’ Coventry home.
The family of five suffered a heartbreaking loss in 2017, when one of their twin boys died during pregnancy.
To help process the loss, they sought help from FRIENDS WAY, Rhode Island’s only bereavement center dedicated to serving children, teens, and their families.
For the past several years, SeaScape has partnered with FRIENDS WAY, hoping to bring some light back into the lives of families like the Rowles.
While the Rowles children were at school, Christmas Decor teams decked their family home with lights, garland, and wreaths.
“Well, I thought it was really nice, and I’m happy that they donated the lights to us,” Ryan Rowles told Channel 12.
Ryan told Channel 10 about a stuffed angel bear he carries.
“It symbolizes my twin brother Liam, who died when I was born,” he said.
“I mean, Christmas is probably my favorite holiday,” Mom, Rebecca Rowles, said. “But after we lost Liam, I’m always thinking about what it would be like if Liam were here.”
“It’s beautiful because we just got to surprise a family with a holiday light installation, and the kids got off the bus and stopped in awe. It’s amazing to bring a little bit of joy and brightness to the holiday,” added Ryan Loiselle, director of “FRIENDS WAY”.
