Despite some showers here and there, many lawns in our area are suffering from some drought stress. Water is the single biggest determining factor of how good your lawn will look. Each lawn is made up of several hundred grass plants. Each plant needs about 1 to 1.5 inches of water each week. Passing showers are not enough.
If you have underground sprinklers, please set them to run for about 35-40 minutes per zone every other day. If you are using hoses, please try to water each area for about an hour every 3 days.
Your lawn technician will keep monitoring your lawn to see what we can be doing to help. We will be checking for insect damage which will often mimic drought stress.
