Red Thread: What you need to know about this fungus

In addition to crabgrass, another common issue in the summer is red thread.

This fungus gives your lawn a reddish hue. The good news – it’s largely cosmetic and rarely does permanent damage. Your lawn tech will treat the lawn with extra fertilizer to help the red thread grow out of the lawn. While your lawn has this disease, you may want to bag your clippings to keep it from spreading.

If your lawn starts to go into stress, our techs will make adjustments to your program automatically! Please don’t delay applications as weeds still need to be treated and we want to check for insects (some insect damage looks just like drought stress). If you have any questions, please send us an email or give us a call at 1-800-294-5296.
