Now’s the time to prepare your yard for the season

The sun is out longer. The flowers are starting to bloom. Your grass is probably starting to green up. Our SeaScape experts have a few important reminders for you as the season starts.

Give Your Lawn a Headstart

SeaScape technicians have already begun applying the first application of the season.

While there is still a chill in the air on some days, this is a good time for your lawn’s first treatment. Many lawns will receive fertilizer and pre-emergent crabgrass control and spot weed control. This will help your grass green up faster and help prevent crabgrass from growing in later.

Please don’t dethatch after your first application! That will render the pre-emergent barrier useless. If you want to lightly rake the lawn, go ahead. Otherwise, your lawn is off to a good start.

Get Ticks Before They Get You

If you’ve been out enjoying the nice weather recently you may have found your first tick of the season. Research has shown that ticks aren’t dying off during the winter as once thought. They are more prevalent now as the weather warms.

SeaScape can help! Consider our Tick and Flea control programs for your lawn. Call our office at 1-800-294-LAWN (5296) or click here for more information.

Lower Your Watering Costs with Water Savers

Water is one of the most important aspects of lawn care. Your millions of grass plants that make up your lawn need about 1.5 inches of water per week. Unfortunately, drought stress in the summer has become somewhat common in New England.

Water Savers can help your lawn look its best this season with less water. Using dual modalities, Water Savers applications help your lawn retain water longer and use it more efficiently. Customers can use up to 33% less water each year. Less water, lower bills, and greener grass = win.

Don’t Leave Plants, Shrubs Unprotected

Trees and shrubs have survived another typical New England winter. TreeSolutions has started our spring applications to help control insects before they hatch later this spring. Even established ornamental trees and shrubs can use some disease and insect control.

Would you like a FREE estimate? New TreeSolutions customers can receive 50% off their first applications. Help your valuable landscape plants stay healthy and pest-free all year long.
