Give Your Lawn a Headstart

While there is still a chill in the air on some days, this is a good time for your lawn’s first treatment. Many lawns will receive fertilizer and pre-emergent crabgrass control and spot weed control. This will help your grass green up faster and help prevent crabgrass from growing in later.
Please don’t dethatch after your first application! That will render the pre-emergent barrier useless. If you want to lightly rake the lawn, go ahead. Otherwise, your lawn is off to a good start.
Get Ticks Before They Get You
If you’ve been out enjoying the nice weather recently you may have found your first tick of the season. Research has shown that ticks aren’t dying off during the winter as once thought. They are more prevalent now as the weather warms.
